1. About This Policy
This Cookie Policy explains how Brickwise Pty Ltd (“Brickwise”, “we”, “our”, “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies on our platform at brickwise.com.au. This policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your personal information under the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) set out in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
While Australia does not currently have a standalone law requiring cookie consent banners (unlike the EU's GDPR), we believe in transparency and provide you with clear information about the technologies we use. We also offer a cookie consent mechanism as a best-practice measure to give you control over non-essential cookies.
2. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile phone) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently, to remember your preferences, and to provide information to site owners about how visitors use their website. Cookies may be set by the website you are visiting (“first-party cookies”) or by third-party services that provide functionality on the website (“third-party cookies”).
3. Essential Cookies (Always Active)
These cookies are strictly necessary for the platform to function. They enable core features such as authentication and security, and cannot be disabled without impairing the Service.

|---|---|---|---|
| sb-*-auth-token | Supabase | Authentication session management. Keeps you signed in securely across page visits. | Session |

| cookie-consent | Brickwise | Stores your cookie consent preferences so we do not ask you again on each visit. | 1 year |
4. Analytics Cookies (Consent Required)
These cookies help us understand how visitors interact with our platform so we can improve the user experience. Analytics cookies are only set if you provide consent via our cookie consent banner. If you decline, these cookies will not be placed on your device.

6. Local Storage and Session Storage
In addition to cookies, we use browser local storage and session storage for the following purposes:
- Questionnaire progress: We save your questionnaire responses locally so that if you leave the page and return, you can continue where you left off without re-entering information
- Dashboard preferences: Layout and display preferences for your dashboard are stored locally for a personalised experience
- Theme and UI preferences: Any display settings you choose are stored for convenience
This data remains on your device and is not transmitted to our servers unless you explicitly submit the questionnaire. You can clear local storage at any time through your browser's settings or developer tools.
7. How to Manage Cookies
Cookie consent banner: When you first visit Brickwise, a cookie consent banner will appear allowing you to accept or decline analytics cookies. Essential cookies and payment cookies cannot be disabled as they are required for the platform to function.
Browser settings: You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Most modern browsers allow you to:
- View which cookies are currently stored on your device
- Delete individual or all cookies
- Block cookies from specific or all websites
- Set preferences for first-party and third-party cookies
Please note that blocking essential cookies will prevent the platform from functioning correctly (for example, you will not be able to sign in). To reset your cookie consent preferences on Brickwise, clear your browser cookies for brickwise.com.au and the consent banner will appear again on your next visit.
8. Third-Party Cookies and Data Location
Some cookies on our platform are set by third-party services. These services have their own privacy and cookie policies, and we encourage you to review them:
- Supabase (authentication) — Data stored in Australia (AWS Sydney)
- PostHog (analytics) — Data stored in the European Union
- Stripe (payments) — Data stored in the United States
For more information about cross-border data disclosure, please see Section 7 of our Privacy Policy.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies and technologies we use, or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will post any changes on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
